So our clever girl has become quite interested with her mouth lately as many kids are at this age. Normally this wouldn't be a big deal...but our circumstances aren't normal hahaha. What it's meant for us is extreme frustration because she has found the ability to flip out her mouth plate without using her hands at all. She does this by smiling really really widely and this pulls her plate off of the roof of her mouth just enough so that she can put her tongue behind it and then she pops the plate out of her mouth. If she's feeling lazy, she gets her finger into the loop of the plate and pulls it right out and this method pulls the tape off of her face which in turn makes her upset. This is extremely frustrating as I'm sure you all can imagine as it means that Esther (the tape master) has to re-tape her, sometimes less than 10 minutes after initially taping her . As frustrating as it is, we sometimes laugh as she gets such a look of pride and satisfaction on her face when she does it. She just looks at us like she's saying "Ha haaaaaa, check it out, guys, I got it again!!!" In the third picture you can see that she's actually thrown her plate away. It's behind the elephant's eye! Needless to say this is making us count down the days til her surgery that much more. Less than three weeks!!
